Project Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

CDIM Engineering is seeking an energetic and versatile environmental engineer, geologist, or scientist to support us with contaminated site, water quality and environmental compliance projects. The position is ideal for a motivated, socially and technically oriented individual that wants to sit in San Francisco and do local work involving the SF Bay. CDIM is a small and growing team that offers a flexible work environment and abundant room for personal, professional, and financial growth. We want to mentor an individual with 4+ years’ experience into a high quality professional and manager.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contaminated site work, including sediment, soil, groundwater, and air sampling; laboratory analysis and QC; results interpretation, risk evaluation, and report writing; feasibility study/remedial action planning; field work /construction oversight; documentation reports and risk management planning

  • Environmental compliance inspections at projects sites; assist clients to develop compliance programs; areas of interest include pollution prevention, air quality, hazardous materials and waste, storm water, wastewater and spill prevention

  • Water quality engineering projects including stormwater level 1/2 reports, SWRCB trash policy compliance, green infrastructure BMP design, design of monitoring programs, erosion and sediment control

  • Perform various technical analysis and studies which may include database development and data manipulation, geospatial analysis, 3D design and drafting, technical report writing and presentation

  • Owning scope, budget, schedule and subcontractor management; interfacing with senior personnel, clients, regulators, and subcontractors

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, geology, or related field

  • 4+ years’ experience in the environmental industry

  • Desire to work with new technology in environmental applications

  • Working knowledge of California and federal environmental regulations; environmental investigations and remediation technologies; water quality, including contaminants, regulations, and treatment processes, with an emphasis on storm water

  • Excellent independent professional judgement and interpersonal skills

  • Capable of communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Skilled in GIS and/or AutoCAD, or the interest and ability to learn new software technologies

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

  • Professional license (PE/PG) desired
