Growth, Giving, and Moving Forward

It's been a while since our last update — and a lot has happened. We've doubled in size, expanded our technical capabilities, strengthened our relationships with clients and regulatory partners, and continued to invest in the people and community that make our work meaningful.

Our Team has Grown

Our employees are CDIM's mind, body and soul. We're proud to have recently welcomed four exceptional professionals to CDIM:

Dr. Hamed Nazar, Project Engineer — Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with deep expertise in environmental pollution assessment, data analysis, and remediation science.

Ryan Charney, CPESC, QSD/QSP, QISP, Project Scientist — over a decade of stormwater program management experience and certifications that strengthen our water quality practice.

Cecilia Compton, Staff Scientist — environmental science background with strong skills in regulatory compliance research and field monitoring.

Eugenie Turner, Staff Scientist — environmental science and GIS expertise with a background in water quality research.

Each of these individuals embodies the qualities we look for at CDIM: technical curiosity, a commitment to doing things right, and a genuine care for the work and the people it serves.

100% Growth in Two Years

Between 2024 and 2026, CDIM doubled in size. We won new contracts with the Port of San Francisco and San Francisco International Airport, and expanded our private sector client base across technology, real estate, legal, housing development, and construction. This growth reflects the trust our clients place in us. We've grown with caution and care — bringing on staff and capabilities that allow us to do more without compromising the responsiveness and quality that define our firm.

Expanding What We Do

Our service offerings have continued to evolve alongside the needs of our clients and the regulatory landscape, with recent expanded capability in:

• Real-time air quality monitoring for construction, industrial, and naturally occurring asbestos applications
•  In situ groundwater remediation design and implementation, including compliance and litigation strategy
•  Hazardous waste TSDF and closure compliance program development and permitting
•  Streamlined water quality assessment, monitoring, and NPDES compliance

We've also continued to strengthen our field services — sensor deployment, environmental media sampling, remediation and water treatment system installation and operations, and compliance verification inspections. Our ability to both plan the work and do the work remains a core part of what we offer.

Contributing to California's Infrastructure Conversation

We're honored to have served as chair and principal author of the Hazardous Waste chapter of the 2025 California Infrastructure Report Card. This comprehensive assessment examines the state of California's hazardous waste management infrastructure — its capacity, challenges, and the investments needed to protect public health and the environment.

A Fresh Look

We've updated our website with a new look and feel that better reflects who we are today. We also produced a short video that shares our firm's mission and values. We hope it gives you a sense of the people behind the work.

We provide environmental engineering services to construction, development, industrial and municipal clients. Our expert-level service offerings include storm water engineering and compliance, site assessment, remediation, environmental and civil engineering, environmental regulatory compliance, air quality, planning and permitting, and environment project management.

We believe that the success of our firm belongs to the people who build it every day. We've reinvested profits back into our employees through profit sharing, above-market salaries, and expanded benefits programs. Our goal is to create a workplace where talented professionals can build meaningful careers — not just complete projects.

Investing in Our People

We believe that the success of our firm belongs to the people who build it every day. We've reinvested profits back into our employees through profit sharing, above-market salaries, and expanded benefits programs. Our goal is to create a workplace where talented professionals can build meaningful careers — not just complete projects.

Building for the Long Term

We've continued to invest in our administrative and risk management infrastructure — the systems, processes, and controls that allow us to serve our clients reliably over the long term. Environmental compliance and remediation programs often span years or decades, and our clients deserve a partner with the organizational stability and resilience to be there for the duration.

CDIM is a San Francisco firm, and we're committed to strengthening the local economy through our hiring practices, purchasing decisions, and development of our physical footprint. We believe that local investment creates connection to our community where our work is done.

We continue to foster deep relationships and cooperation with local regulatory agencies — including the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the Department of Toxic Substances Control, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and local CUPAs. These relationships allow us to keep abreast of regulatory developments, assist our clients in obtaining environmental permits, and help navigate complex negotiations and strategic decisions in a dynamic regulatory climate. We view regulators as partners in the shared goal of protecting public health and the environment, and our clients benefit from the trust and credibility we've built through years of collaborative, good-faith engagement.

Giving Back

We continue our tradition of donating a portion of our revenues to charities that are close to our staff. Each of these organizations connects back to a member of our team, and we encourage those with the resources and desire to consider them:

• San Francisco CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates representing children in the foster care system.

• Pancreatic Cancer Action Network — Working to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

• City Hope SF — Providing care and support for San Francisco's marginalized populations.

• Refuse Refuse — Neighborhood cleanup efforts keeping our city beautiful.

We exit the early months of 2026 grateful for our clients, our team, and the community that sustains us.

We wish you all a year of productive and purpose.

— The CDIM Team
