OIL SPILL RESPONSE PLANNING

CDIM is assisting a short line railroad to comply with emergency regulations from California Fish and Wildlife, Office of Spill Prevention and Response for transport of petroleum oil at Inland Facilities. The emergency regulations require that Inland Facilities develop a Contingency Plan (C-Plan) for oil spills to waters of the State. The C-Plan includes assessment of sensitive resources, discharge locations, drainage pathways, and potential oil recovery locations. CDIM assists the railroad in maintaining its required certificates of financial responsible and oil spill response contract, as well as performing required training and table top exercise.

Project Highlights:

  • Coordination with local emergency planning organizations
  • Training for pollution prevention
  • Plan development under severe time constraints
